Youth Ministry

And we proclaim Him admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom that we may present every man complete in Christ. - Colossians 1:28

The Youth Ministry of First Presbyterian Church exists to introduce Middle and Senior High students to Jesus Christ and to disciple and equip them for service in the Kingdom of God as mature followers of Christ.

Various social and service events:

The Youth meet on the second floor of the Thornwell Education Building. Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for donuts and fellowship in Room 205. Sunday School classes start at 10:00 a.m.

Sunday afternoon Middle School Youth Group meets at 4:30 p.m. for snacks, fellowship and worship. Senior High Youth Group meets at 7:30 p.m., following the evening service. Both are located on the second floor of Thornwell (T205).

There are also small group Bible studies throughout the week. Small group Bible studies are typically divided by grade and gender and meet one night a week.

Other activities include:

Quarterly retreats - Fall and Spring retreats, Winter ski trips, and Summer conferences.

Summer Mission Trips broaden our students' world view and develop in them a heart for spreading the Gospel. Past mission opportunities have included inner-city work in Columbia, trips to New Orleans, the Bahamas, Appalachia, and Wales. Most trips combine physical labor with relationship building.

For all of our off-campus activities, we require a Medical and Liability Release form to be signed and notarized for each school year. You can download this form from the forms site. Or request one from the youth office.

The Youth Staff:

Seth Philbrick - Assistant Director
Sarah Braden - Assistant Director
